Terms and conditions
General terms and conditions of adult French courses:
- Membership is compulsory for all students of the Alliance Française de Toowoomba.
- Each term consists of eight (8) weeks.
-
All fees are payable in advance. Access to classes can commence only after payment is confirmed. Students must be 65 years and over,
at the time of enrolment, to be eligible for the senior discount and proof of age may be requested. The year-in-advance discount is
only applicable when purchasing four (4) terms of classes prior to commencement of the first class of term 1 in each calendar year.
- Pro-rata payment is not available, unless at the discretion of the Alliance Française de Toowoomba management committee.
-
The Alliance Française de Toowoomba reserves the right to cancel courses if minimum enrolments are not received. A minimum enrolment of
five (5) students per course is required.
- If a course is cancelled by the Alliance Française de Toowoomba, students will be offered a full refund.
-
Classes are subject to variation due to enrolment numbers and days may be changed at the discretion of the Alliance Française de Toowoomba.
-
If a class is cancelled by the Alliance Française de Toowoomba due to last minute teacher unavailability, students will be notified as
soon as possible. Arrangements for rescheduling the class will be made in consultation between teacher and students.
-
The Alliance Française de Toowoomba complies with the Queensland Government COVID-19 mandate. This includes adherence to strict
guidelines in relation to vaccination status and QR check-in requirements for all classes.
-
To ensure the health and safety of its members, the Alliance Française de Toowoomba reserves the right to change a face-to-face class to
an online class in order to comply with the Queensland Government COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing rules.
-
Except in circumstances in which the Alliance Française de Toowoomba Committee must make the decision to cancel a class, no refunds will
be provided to students who miss classes or decide to discontinue once payment has been received. Classes are organised in advance to
ensure teacher availability and are based on student enrolment numbers. Students dropping out of classes after commencement would make
the class unviable and disadvantage those remaining for the entirety of the term. Furthermore, we do not have the administrative
capacity, nor are we able to cover the high costs associated with refunds. As we are unsure when classes are scheduled in future terms,
we cannot provide credit towards classes.
-
To ensure the best quality in teaching the Alliance Française de Toowoomba reserves the right to redirect a student to another class
level if the student's level does not match the other members of the class.
Terms and conditions of membership:
- Membership is valid from 1 January to 31 December of each calendar year.
-
Alliance Française de Toowoomba's membership is only valid at the Alliance Française de Toowoomba and cannot be transferred to another
Alliance.
- Membership is not transferable.
- Membership types are Student, Individual, Family or Corporate.
- Family membership is for couples and their children who are under 18 years only or close family members.
- Corporate membership is for schools, businesses and organisations.
-
Alliance Française de Toowoomba members receive discounts on cultural and social events. The Alliance Française de Toowoomba reserves the
right to change the discounts and their availability at any time.
-
Alliance Française de Toowoomba membership is non-refundable and not exchangeable; cancellations will not be reimbursed under any
circumstances.
-
In accordance with Section 70(4) of the Associations Incorporation Act 1981, all activities of the Alliance Française de Toowoomba
are covered by Public Liability Insurance. The amount of the Public Liability Insurance is $20,000,000.

been received.
